'Lux' by Michael Antonio for Stop Staring! Fashion Show

 

Ever wonder what it takes to create a shoe brand such as Michael Antonio. ShoesTV takes a peek behind the scenes. Below are excerpts from the interview:

 

 

How did the company get started?

MA: Shoes are truly in our blood. We are a family-owned business, stemming from three generations of shoe makers. Our family produced their first pair of shoes in 1970 and the Michael Antonio brand launched in 1998. This is what we were born to do.

 

 

Tell me about the Michael Antonio shoe Stop Staring! used in their fashion show last month. How did you hook up with Stop Staring!?

MA: Stop Staring! is all about 1950s Vargas pin-up/Rockabilly-inspired fashion, so we wanted to provide a style of shoe that would be perfect for that look…….

Last week Michael Antonio “Timber” was spotted on the runway, her favorite place this season! This time she was seen during the 2012 Spring Preview of Czar by Cesaer Galindo. Cesear Galindo is well known in the fashion industry and gave an impressive show. “Timber” is obviously the shoe for next spring!

Bria Murphy- Kelly Nishimoto Spring '12

You may have seen her on multiple runways, music videos, or even grace the pages of magazines. She is Bria Murphy, the daughter of actor Eddie Murphy but is best known for her upcoming modeling career. She recently walked the Kelly Nishimoto Spring ’12 LAFW show wearing Michael Antonio. Perfect for the spring, her look was paired with “Timber.” We were excited to be apart of the Kelly Nishimoto show but even more excited to see Bria rock Michael Antonio.

Seeing our shoes rock the runway is the ultimate honor, and this year our shoes have been making some note-worthy appearances ( to say the least!)


If you missed out on our updates from NYFW, don’t even worry, MA has hit the runway hard for this years at various different fashion week events around LA, in some collaborative efforts with insanely fabulous designers.

On Saturday October 15th, Thai Nguyen showed his Spring 2012 line at Ace Gallery in L.A. as a part of Concept L.A. Fashion Week. His designs are inspired from his Vietnamese heritage, and the light flowy gowns are a reflection of that inspiration.
